Lindy 3.5mm & USB-C Monaural Headset with In-Line Control

Some headsets are built for focus. This one is built for the real world - open-plan offices, shared desks, busy call centres, and anyone who needs to stay on a call while keeping one ear free for what's happening around them. The Lindy 3.5mm & USB-C Monaural Headset does exactly that: single earcup, clear audio, solid microphone, and a cable that works with virtually everything.

The design is monaural - one ear covered, one free. That's deliberate. In collaborative environments where you need to catch someone walking over or stay aware of the room, a binaural headset cuts you off. This one doesn't. The 40mm driver delivers clear enough audio for calls and voice playback, and the omni-directional microphone on the flexible boom arm picks up your voice cleanly without picking up half the room.

Connectivity is where this headset earns its place. The cable terminates in a 3.5mm jack for direct connection to any laptop, PC, or phone with an audio port. The detachable in-line control unit adds a USB-C connection, so you can plug straight into modern laptops and smartphones that have dropped the 3.5mm port entirely. Volume and mute are on the in-line control, within reach without touching the device. At 108g and with an adjustable headband, it's light enough to forget you're wearing it three hours into a shift.

Product Q&A

Q: What's the difference between this and a binaural headset?

A: This is a monaural headset - it has a single earcup covering one ear, leaving the other ear open. That makes it ideal for office and call centre environments where you need to stay aware of your surroundings. A binaural headset covers both ears and is better for focused listening or noisy environments where you want full isolation.

Q: My laptop doesn't have a 3.5mm port. Can I still use this?

A: Yes. The headset includes a detachable in-line control unit with a USB-C connector. Attach it to the headset cable and plug directly into any USB-C port on a modern laptop or smartphone. The 3.5mm connection is still available if you need it for other devices.

Q: Does it work with Microsoft Teams and Zoom?

A: Yes. The headset is plug-and-play and compatible with all major VoIP and UC platforms including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, and Skype. No drivers or software configuration are needed.

Q: Does it work with smartphones?

A: Yes. Via the 3.5mm connection on phones that have an audio jack, or via the USB-C in-line control on smartphones with a USB-C port. It is not compatible with Lightning (Apple iPhone) ports without a separate adapter.

Q: Is the microphone boom flexible?

A: Yes. The boom microphone is flexible and can be positioned to suit either left or right ear use, and adjusted to sit at the right distance from your mouth for optimal voice capture.
